The Sullivans #Romance Tour and #BookReviews – If Eight is Enough Were on HBO

If you love to devour romance novels, then have I got a series for you! Novel Publicity & Co has put together a huge blog tour for Bella Andre’s New York Times and USA Today best-selling contemporary romance series The Sullivans. These sexy, emotional and funny novels about a group of eight grown siblings and how they meet their loves will make you laugh and cry right along with the characters. The books even take place in California, giving you the opportunity to travel by proxy and escape the winter blues. Remember the TV show Eight is Enough? (Well, if you’re really young, maybe you don’t!) But if you remember watching that 1970s show, or catching the re-runs after school in the 1980s, picture the boisterous family atmosphere, but imagine that the siblings were all adults and looking for love, and that the show was on a cable channel like HBO or Showtime which allows for graphic love scenes. Now you’ll get a feel for what you’ll find in The Sullivans.

I don’t normally review books, but I love discovering a new series. It’s such fun to revisit familiar characters and see how they’re doing in another novel. And yes, I needed to escape the winter blues. I plan to read all of the Sullivan novels, but so far I’ve read three of them. Here is my review of the first book in the series. Click on the title for the Amazon link. I’ll be reviewing a couple more books during the tour.

The Look of Love: The Sullivans, Book 1 (Contemporary Romance)
In this first installment, Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. When her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is—until the night he finds the troubled Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley.

This book reeled me right into the series. Although not all of the Sullivan siblings play a significant role in this book, author Bella Andre nicely sets up the series by weaving in details about Chase’s family and doing some foreshadowing of events to come. She deftly builds the increasing chemistry between Chase and Chloe and romance readers will be riveted to see how their relationship goes from no strings to falling in love, and how Chloe will overcome the problems that brought her to the wet dark road in the first place. I also enjoyed the Napa Valley setting. Readers should be forewarned that the love scenes in all of the Sullivan books are steamy and they were steamier than I typically read. I skimmed over them as I typically read romances that cut away earlier in the love scene. But there were no offensive or crude words so the explicit scenes didn’t deter me from enjoying the book. Despite having 500 books on my Kindle, as soon as I finished this book, I immediately went on to read Book 2.
