More details on Laundry Day below, but first I’ll give you some background on how this all came about.
I have been living and breathing audiobooks for the past four months as I’ve worked at getting my books produced into audio format for Amazon, Audible and iTunes. Several of my titles are now available, with the full list here. I’ve loved getting to know my narrators and producers and it has been wonderful collaborating with people who possess a whole different set of talents than I do. Recently, I had the pleasure of connecting with Nicole. We hit it off, and the next thing you know, we were teaming up to record Laundry Day. We had both been in the middle of long projects and wanted to do something short and sweet for the fun of it. Well, maybe sweet isn’t exactly the right word…after listening to this story, you’ll never look at a Victoria’s Secret window display or your humidifier in the same way!
Until now, the story had exclusively been available in e-book format. What a thrill it was to hear Nicole narrate it and bring a whole other dimension to the story with her portrayal of the characters. This talented lady has toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company, is an Audie Award Finalist, AudioFile Earphones Award recipient, and a recipient of the Publisher’s Weekly Listen Up Award. She has also recorded a slew of books including House Rules and Change of Heart by one of my favorite authors, Jodi Picoult.
Here is a quick overview of the story. When Gregg accidentally discovers his neighbor’s lingerie collection drip-drying in her shower, he stares in fascination at a scene that looks like laundry day at the whorehouse. After his neighbor is found dead – strangled with her own fishnet stocking – the next victim might even be closer to home.
If you enjoy listening to audiobooks, or you’re an author seeking a narrator, you can learn more about Nicole on her website. Thanks for visiting and we hope you enjoy the story! Watch for my in-depth interview with Nicole Poole, scheduled for March 5.
