I was recently invited to be a pioneer beta tester on the new site Happify.com and they have given a special invite link to my readers if you’d like to try it out, also! When I first received the invitation to join the site, I almost deleted it. I receive lots of offers as a blogger and sometimes it’s hard to weed out which ones are legit opportunities and which ones are not. But then I read the blog posts by other pioneers who have been using the site and I realized that this is a site that is making a positive difference in people’s lives.
According to the developers, recent scientific breakthroughs indicate that happiness is a skill that you can control. Just like physical fitness, there are skills you can do on a regular basis to make you happier. Happify.com is designed to help people to develop these five happiness skills: Savor, Thank, Aspire, Give, Empathize. Users choose a track and new activities are unlocked daily. The selection of science-based activities and games encourage the development of optimism, self-confidence, gratitude, hope, compassion, purpose and empathy.
I have been pursuing the stress management track and enjoy regularly visiting the site to complete the short but fulfilling activities. Other tracks include strengthening friendships, appreciating what you have, embracing life as an empty nester, enjoying parenting more, and feeling more loved by your partner, to name a few. You can share your posts with the Happify community and get to know some like-minded individuals or keep them private.
