Meet Stacy Juba
Author of Romantic Comedies, Mysteries, YA & more
Fiction author Stacy Juba got engaged at Epcot Theme Park and spent part of her honeymoon at Disneyland Paris, where she ate a burger, went on fast rides, and threw up on the train ride back to the hotel.
She still loves theme parks. She just chooses her rides—and hamburgers—a little more carefully these days.
It probably isn't surprising that years later, some of that theme-park magic found its way into Stacy's Storybook Valley romantic comedy series. But romance is only one stop on her writing journey.
Stacy has written about determined women sleuths, twin brothers battling it out on the hockey rink, teen psychics, fairy-tale romance, and even U.S. flag etiquette for kids. Her books span romantic comedy, mystery and suspense, young adult fiction, hockey novels, children's books, and nonfiction.
A Writing Career That Started at 18
Stacy became a published novelist when she was just 18 years old. Her first book, Face-Off, was originally published under her maiden name, Stacy Drumtra. The young adult novel follows twin brothers competing on the hockey rink and for their father's approval.
More than two decades later, Stacy returned to the characters and world that launched her career. She reissued Face-Off for the next generation of readers and released a brand-new sequel, Offsides.
In between, she built a writing career that took her from journalism to mysteries, romantic comedies, young adult fiction, and children's books.
Her novels have reached #5 and #11 in the Nook Store and #30 on the Amazon Kindle Paid List. She is also a past recipient of the William F. Deeck–Malice Domestic Grant for mystery writers.
Before focusing on books, Stacy worked as a journalist, writing more than 3,000 articles and earning over a dozen writing awards. That background—asking questions, digging into people's stories, and paying attention to the details—eventually followed her into fiction.

Stories and Writers Keep Her Busy
Today, Stacy continues to write across genres, following whichever characters and ideas capture her imagination. Whether she's writing romantic comedy, unraveling a mystery, heading onto the hockey rink, or dreaming up a lively tale for younger readers, she loves crafting entertaining stories that give readers a break from the everyday.
Stacy also helps other authors strengthen their manuscripts through her editing services and online writing courses at Shortcuts for Writers.
Her signature course, Book Editing Blueprint: A Step-By-Step Plan to Making Your Novels Publishable, teaches fiction writers how to think like an editor so they can revise more confidently and save time and money during the editing process.
And when she does have a break, there's a good chance Stacy is planning another trip to a theme park.
