Twenty-Five Years Ago Today Book of the Day at Kindle Fire Department

Since my mystery/romantic suspense novel was just featured as the Book of the Day at Kindle Fire Department, I thought I’d do a quick blog post for my new followers who haven’t heard of the book yet.

For twenty-five years, Diana Ferguson’s killer has gotten away with murder. When rookie obit writer and newsroom editorial assistant Kris Langley investigates the cold case of the artistic young cocktail waitress who was obsessed with Greek and Roman mythology, not only does she fall in love with Diana’s sexy nephew, but she must also fight to stay off the obituary page herself.

The newsroom scenes have an authentic feel to them as I worked as a reporter for several years, and before that, I was an editorial assistant just like Kris. Also like Kris, my tasks included writing obits, weddings, answering the phone, and compiling the 25 and 50 Years Ago Today column. I never discovered anything too exciting when searching the microfilm for interesting tidbits from 25 years ago, but one day an idea came to me. What if a newspaper editorial assistant stumbled across a murder while working on her column? What if a tragedy from her past makes her driven to solve it? I also threw in some Greek mythology, since that has been a lifelong interest of mine.

The book is available in paperback from Mainly Murder Press, and is available in bargain e-book formats for Kindle, Nook and Smashwords. I hope some new readers will enjoy it and find out what really happened twenty-five years ago today!
