The Sullivans Tour: #BookReview of Can’t Help Falling in Love

Below is my review of Book 3 in The Sullivan series. To get a flavor for the series, please visit my reviews for Book 1 and Book 2. I am having fun with this Fall in Love with the Sullivans Tour, and I hope you are, too. Don’t miss the chance to enter for great prizes below, but first here is my review.

Can’t Help Falling In Love: The Sullivans, Book 3 (Contemporary Romance) – Again, once I finished Book 2, I instantly began Book 3. This one focuses on Gabe Sullivan, who risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about. Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again.

This book was a fresh change of pace from the first two in the series as Megan is a mother. I enjoyed seeing how Gabe not only becomes close to Megan, but he also evolves into a father figure for her daughter. Since she is a devoted mom, the romance also progresses more slowly than they did in the earlier installments. We also get to know Gabe’s sister Sophie Sullivan, a librarian, and there is some foreshadowing about I Only Have Eyes For You: The Sullivans, Book 4 (Contemporary Romance), which will center on Sophie and another character introduced in this installment, Jake McCann. As of this writing, I am halfway through Sophie’s story, and at this point in the series, the Sullivans are starting to feel like old friends. We even get to attend Chase and Chloe’s wedding in Book 4. I’m looking forward to reading the future novels in the series, which include the stories of movie star Smith Sullivan and pro baseball player Ryan Sullivan.

As I’ve indicated before, the books are steamier than I typically read, but I love the characterization and I’m so glad I heard about this series. This will be my last review of the books due to time constraints, but rest assured that I will be devouring the rest of the novels one after the other. In a nutshell, if you enjoy family novels, romance novels, or series novels, then give the Sullivans a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
