What Would You Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail? #BookReview

I was fortunate to have a special book come across my desk at a difficult time when I could really use the inspiration. I rarely accept books for review due to time constraints, but when I was offered the chance to read a book about letting go of fear and embracing personal power, I instantly accepted. In What Would You Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail? How to Transform Fear into Courage, co-authors Nina Lesowitz and Mary Beth Sammons of the bestselling Living Life as a Thank You present stories of bravery and determination to teach us that courage comes from taking action before we are forced to do so, along with ways to get in touch with our inner power.

Enhanced with motivational stories, expert advice, and hands-on exercises, this courage guidebook helps readers turn apprehension into action to reap the many benefits of living your life with confidence. Stories from world-class athletes, spiritual teachers, and cancer patients teach us how to transform our lives. Through these first-hand accounts, Nina Lesowitz and Mary Beth Sammons demonstrate that how we face up to hardship shapes not only our destiny but our identity.

This is what I found in the book:

• Rituals for facing and transforming your fears
• How facing a crisis can inspire immense personal growth
• Inspiring stories of resilience and courage
• How to develop the right mindset to deal with life’s obstacles
• Tips for putting your passions out there
• Simple, effective and proven methods for confidence and courage

I used to work as a newspaper reporter and my specialty was crafting in-depth feature stories. As a result of my experience, I know how much time and thought the authors put into interviewing their sources and choosing the perfect words to convey those heartfelt stories. I enjoyed how this book was about ordinary people with extraordinary strength as they coped with adversity. Everyone goes through tough times and this book is a reminder that you’re not alone. As many of my readers know, the theme of my website and my own books is Characters at a Crossroads – characters who are at a fork in the road and they can either choose a positive path or a negative path. The positive path may involve fear, risk and venturing into the unknown. The other path might feel safe and familiar, but it leads to the status quo and the same discontent. What Would You Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail? How to Transform Fear into Courage demonstrates a similar message but in a different format. While I weave the message into genre fiction, Nina Lesowitz and Mary Beth Sammons used real life people and stories compiled into a non-fiction book. I especially liked the Power Practices sprinkled throughout the book, offering concrete tips and suggestions.

I would recommend this book to anyone who could use a dose of inspiration. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? Read this book, and then ask yourself that question.
