Welcome to my new blog! I’m so excited to have this opportunity to reach fellow book lovers. One of the main features that I’ll be focusing on is posting a regular 25 Years Ago Today column. Over the coming months, guest authors (and sometimes, their characters) will write articles based upon my question “What were you doing 25 years ago?” We will hear from novelists representing a wide range of genres. From time-to-time, I’ll also pose the question to non-authors.
Why this particular question? First, my debut mystery novel has the title Twenty-Five Years Ago Today. In the book, newspaper editorial assistant Kris Langley stumbles across an intriguing cold case while researching her 25 Years Ago Today column on the microfilm. In fact, each chapter of the book opens with a quick tidbit like this: 25 Years Ago Today, A proposal is made to build a town swimming pool in Fremont. A couple of these trivial-seeming tidbits contain clues to solving the mystery.
My second reason is that I once worked as a newspaper editorial assistant myself. One of my responsibilities was – you guessed it – compiling the 25 Years Ago Today column. Therefore, starting a 25 Years Ago Today blog feature seemed the perfect way to blend my past and my present.

You may discover some new books for your to-read pile after you hear from my first batch of guest authors. They include P.Q. Glisson, Mike Angley, Beth Solheim, Susan Whitfield, Darcía Helle, and Stephen D. Rogers. Other authors are writing their posts as I type. In the meantime, what were you doing 25 years ago?
